Lucknow: After receiving a bomb hoax call on Friday night, Lucknow police increased security in and around the Hazratganj metro station.
Senior police officers stated that UP 112 was informed of a bomb in the Hazratganj Metro station, however it was a fake.
"We learned from U that a bomb was hidden in the metro station. A senior police official said that the bomb disposal team cleaned the area as a precaution. The call was made from Sitapur, according to police sources.
"The caller suspected that his wife had eloped with a man from Banda. He wanted to teach the man a lesson for which he made called up 112 alleging that the Banda resident had planted a bomb in Hazratganj metro station. He wanted to get the man arrested and find his wife," an officer said.
